Why Injinji Socks!

No, this isn’t sponsored.

This is a story about the bright side of making videos and posting them online. When you decide to just be yourself and share who you are, people will react to that – whether you like it or not. It all comes down to how you choose to respond. If someone gives you constructive feedback, you could choose to get defensive and explain why things are the way they are. Or, you could be grateful that someone actually took the time to share their perspective. Of course, there’s a balance – not all feedback is necessary – but with the right mindset, you can improve yourself one video at a time.

It’s also worth remembering that you don’t have to be an expert on a subject to share your thoughts. Your experiences, questions, and concerns can still provide valuable insights to others. They might even inspire new ideas or trigger deeper questions for someone else.

So, what does this have to do with Injinji socks?

After making tons of reviews and documenting my adventures, I thought I had things figured out. I knew a thing or two about hiking and felt confident enough to tell others what they should use. When I posted my video, I expected viewers to simply praise it. Instead, I was given the opportunity to learn something new.

My feet are weird. Shoes don’t really help, and I easily get blisters when I hike. Enter Jake, a follower who shared his experience and told me about a pair of socks that completely changed the game for him. At first, I was skeptical – I need to see things to believe them. But Jake felt so strongly about these socks that he sent me a pair all the way from Australia. I couldn’t have been more grateful, and the difference was undeniable.

If you’re someone who tapes your feet before every hike, imagine a world where you don’t have to. Imagine not needing chafing patches. You could change socks during breaks, but often just airing out your feet and socks is enough (depending on the adventure).

Having toe socks is different, and they offer a wide range of benefits:

Blister Prevention

  • Each toe is wrapped in moisture-wicking fabric, reducing skin-on-skin friction.

  • Prevents blisters and hotspots, especially during activities like 5ks and marathons.

  • Ideal running socks for long distances and races.

Total Foot Utilization

  • Encourages natural alignment and splaying of toes.

  • Enhances full engagement of feet and toes during physical activities.

  • Promotes natural foot movement for road and trail running.

Moisture Management

  • Designed with moisture-wicking materials for a cool and dry environment.

  • Absorbs and evaporates sweat efficiently.

  • Provides more comfort compared to traditional socks during running and hiking.

My own adventure experience came when my son Albert and I completed the Fjällräven Classic Sweden – 110 kilometers of mountain terrain with somewhat heavy backpacks. Albert decided he wanted to finish the adventure in four days instead of the recommended five to six, so the socks really got put to the test. I had two pairs of the Injinji Liner + Hiker set, and they were a lifesaver.

The liner part of the set.

I’ve done the Swedish Classic a couple of times before, and I’ve always had issues with my feet. This time, the socks passed the test with flying colors.

Since then, I’ve worn them often, and unfortunately, I’ve started to notice some holes – not in the liner pair, which you might expect, but in the hiker pair. To be fair, I use them a lot, and I don’t expect socks to last forever. I also work out in just socks, so wear and tear is inevitable for me.

When my birthday came around, I only wished for one thing: a new pair. Luckily, my wife surprised me with not only a replacement but also some other models. Once again, I was blown away.

Ready for the next big step.
